Terrible stuff

Yep, its the poor mans excel, but if youre working on a project with a colleague, the multi platform sharing capability makes it so easy to collaborate that it covers over almost all other shortcomings.

Efficient and easy to use

If running sheets in a browser on your iPad is better than running the app, you have a problem. Sheets is downright awful. Let’s start with keyboard support. Did you know that we have keyboards on iPads? Did you? Now try creating a sum of certain rows in a column. In a spreadsheet on your desktop or in a browser, you would start the formula, then drag the range. You can’t do that in sheets on an iPad, because it immediately loses the reference. Getting out of edit mode is a chore of extra taps and clicks. What if you want to undo a mistake? I accidentally tapped in the wrong cell, and started editing a value. CRAP! I just realized it. How do I cancel the change? What? You can’t? Exactly.

The built in app makes it easy to maintain, share, collaborate, and update a live document amongst your friends, family, and coworkers. I would recommend this to anyone.

I have used google sheets now over a year, it has corrupted my files twice. Spreadsheets gone. I thought the first time this happened was my fault, this last time, recently, I hadnt made any changes to the saved file and it corrupted. Very disappointed in app. Will be removing it.

I have to track a lot of events and details for my organizations. I would be able to live without this app.

I have gone PC free for 6 months now, and I replaced Quicken by creating my own program on Google Sheets, which I have nicknamed “Quickenish”. Works GREAT! It didn’t take very long for me to learn to migrate my Excel skills to Google Sheets. I have online stock quotes automatically pushed into cells from one book to another, and formulas push data from one sheet to another, and the whole system works remarkably well. I love that I can access from phone or IPad, as well as access offline when I am away from a network connection. I can even enter data offline and it will sync automatically next time I open with a network connection. My Quickenish has no categories or budget, but hey, it’s free! Worst con: slow to enter data after tabbing over a cell, but maybe that’s my devices? I use (and adore) Tecknet mini keyboard with my IPad mini.

Easy set up. Easy printing. Easy to find and recall. Perfect!!!

We use as a simple excel spreadsheet for individual dinner assignments for a Ski Patrol team. Everyone can access and adjust as necessary.

I can’t believe I wasn’t using this before. Now that I have, I continually find new reasons to open Google Sheets.
