Google Sheets App Reviews

Highly Unstable

My job (for some stupid reason) decided to use Google Sheets to share a chart with one another. The problem is, theres absolutely no security features to avoid accidental mistakes or sabotage on specific boxer or options. On the sheet I was looking at, I was being very careful to avoid typing in the wrong box, and I succeeded eventually. However, when I tried to save the sheet offline, the switch for sharing with others turned off. I swear I didnt touch it. It did it by itself. Meaning none of my co-workers could edit it anymore. And there was nothing I could do, it wasnt my sheet. I lost it too. Im begging you sincerely Google, do SOMETHING about this. Serious accidents shouldnt be possible. The sickest part is, when I checked to see if the sheet was still sharable, it said it WAS! I restarted the app to be safe. But it turns out, that the link was off and my sheet was gone forever!! Either fix this horrible service, or delete it completely! Whoevers in charge of this is not managing it competently.

IPhone issues

I never had an issue with this app until I switched to iphone. Now, every time I try to load the shared spreadsheet we use, it tells me “Oops, there was a problem.” It takes me upwards of 20 times to get it to open by refreshing and closing the app. I have deleted and re-downloaded and nothing helps. I have sent help requests and feedback and once again, nothing helps.

No ability to use file toolbar

It works to a drgree on a new state-of-the-art ipad, but beware, there is no file toolbar. That means you can’t run any custom macros. For me, the app is worthless due to this problem.

It works somewhat.

Using Excel is less complicated and generally more productive than trying to make sense of Sheets. Neither tries to play well with the other, so opinions seem to hinge on which limitations bother one the most. But then, trying to use either from an iPad is at least problematic. Theyre OK for viewing content.

That’s it?

AWFUL. This is just awful. Every one of the major spreadsheet apps is way, way, way better to use, including QuickOffice, which Google bought, and still hasn’t made to edit google spreadsheets, yet. Things that get me this frustrated: 1) Formulas - You have to manually type it out, like you’re using VisiCalc. No tapping on a cell while editing a formula to reference the cell. 2) Bluetooth keyboard support is terrible. I can’t use tab, or the arrow keys, or the enter/return key. Using the Apple Magic Keyboard with an iPad Pro? There’s no way to escape out of a cell that you screwed up. All you have is the accept check mark. 3) Tapping on a cell doesn’t let you edit it. Nope. You have to tap TWICE on the cell - once to select it, and once to edit it. If I’m hunting and pecking with a finger, I guess I can understand that (even though it slows me down a ton), but again, it makes using a keyboard with my iPad nearly unbearable. 4) The document list doesn’t have a view that respects my folders - all I see is a bunch of thumbnails for every one of my spreadsheets, with no organization. It’s sorted by the last time I edited them, which is fine for the spreadsheets I touch frequently, and not so fine for the ones that I haven’t touched in a few weeks. 5) Copying/pasting a formula is unbelievably difficult, because the app thinks youre trying to scroll when youre selecting a range of cells. I keep hoping that Google will care enough to make these apps good, but it doesn’t. The web interface is much better.

Keeps crashing

Can’t open one of my documents. The only one I need to open.

Junk!

Junk! Crashes freezes super slow to load. Might be alright if you are the only user of a sheet. But opening multi user sheets forget about it.

Works Very Well! (Especially for business)

This works great for my business! It helps to organize what has and what hasn’t happened. It also helps to keep track of money sums, payments, bills, and more! Very helpful and recommended for businesses. Since on iOS, it has made life so much easier than just on PC’s. Though, it would be better if it didn’t run on any sort of internet connection. When away on business, and you have no connection, it can make it hard for me to organize it. In the end, it can make a great organizer, and a great tool. Thanks!, GDG

Good stuff.

Not Excel, but very workable.

Doesn’t work on iOS11 with iPhone 6

This used to be my go-to app for taking notes, communicating with teammates, etc. But after updating to iOS11 it no longer syncs, and crashes 50% of the time when I open it for the first time. Google please fix this for iPhone 6!

Google Suite, is pretty sweet!

I use this app in lieu of Microsoft/Apple because it works for both OS systems. It’s also pretty robust and can do most of the things that general spreadsheets can besides macros. I like Google’s software!

Great app

Simple to use, intuitive on Mac OS as well as iOS and Android.

Awkward with charts

This version gives an insanely underpowered experience with charts and graphs. I spent way too much time trying to figure out how to modify a chart to use another data set. Turns out you can not edit a chart but you can creat a new chart. However for viewing it does the job.

This completely trash it deleted all my apps and now there are Jared’s nudes on my screen

This deleted my apps and now i have Jared’s nudes on my screen. I lost all my friends because they seen the nudes. I hope you rot in hell.

IT IS COMPLETELY TRASH

WHEN I TRIED TO OPEN IT, IT DELETED EVERYTHING THAT WAS IN MY GOOGLE SHEETS AND GOOGLE DOCS. I HOPE THE CREATOR ROTS IN HELL. I HAVE TO REDO MY FRESHMAN YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL BECAUSE OF THIS APP.??????????????????????????

Hi

Play more ROBLOX

Great for my Budget

This app is great, I use it to keep a monthly budget that shows which bills I have paid when everything is due, etc. what makes it nice is that I can pull this document up on my iPhone, iPad and work computer and I don’t have to worry about saving a file because the document is accessible from any where when u log in.

Extremely Useful

I Use this app for spreadsheets that I want to always have with me like: Trip records, Medical record keeping, eye glass prescription data, etc It still has a “getting-use-to” learning curve from the Perenial Ecel, but it’s totally free ?

A great application

Im a 20 year I.T. guy and an MS-Excel power user - this "Sheets" application is excellent!

Nearly perfect as a mobile app, few bugs to address

I’m not sure if it’s an issue with my iPhone X or the app itself, but since getting the X I’ve been experiencing major slowdowns after applying color to cells. I recall it only happening once a long time ago on my 7+ but it’s more frequent on the X. A force close resolves the issue, but would be nice to do away with the issue entirely. Occasionally the copy/cut function doesn’t transfer the contents when swapping sheets, but that one’s not as annoying as the app slowing down entirely.
